Speculation and anticipation surrounding the forthcoming Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has been immense. With only two days to go until the big day, the excitement is buzzing all around the world. Particularly within the wedding industry as weddings of this grandeur set trends. They pave the way for future styles and must-haves which will be inspiring industries across the globe.

So here at Ann’s Designer Cakes, as much as we’re excited to watch the couple say I Do this weekend, it’s those all important details that we’re really excited to be finally revealed the most. We can’t wait to see it all, the dress, the flowers, the guests, the gossip…and of course, the cake.

Our Royal Wedding Cake Predictions 

We shared our Royal Wedding Predictions with Guides for Brides recently, which you can read in full over on their blog. The team put our heads together and brainstormed our ideas on what flavours and styles the couple might choose.

A combination of exotic fruit and spice flavours, Banana & Cinnamon, with traditional Fruit Cake layers to keep for future christenings.

We imagined that the style of the cake will, of course, be in keeping with Royal Tradition. Perhaps a classic white cake with elements of Harry’s regiment and the four British nations.

Princess Diana’s wedding cake was a collection of hexagonal shapes and William and Kate’s cake was formed around round tiers. So maybe Megham and Harry have chosen a mixture of shapes, definitely tiers, not pillars, with a range of flavours to surprise their wedding guests.

There are certain elements of a Royal Wedding which have to be kept to a certain standard. So expect to see something grand, opulent and beautifully lavish.

The theme might reflect the wedding venue, Windsor Castle. Again in keeping with Royal tradition, we see this being very formal. Perhaps with a few elements of the young Royals personalities which will be subtle, elegant details, such as emblems or the flowers used to decorate the cake.

Our Royal Wedding Cake in Collaboration with David’s Bridal 

Whilst sadly we aren’t the official Royal Wedding Cake supplier, we were thrilled to have been asked to collaborate with David’s Bridal.  To supply their UK flagship store in Westfield Stratford City, with a Royal Wedding inspired cake for their celebrations this weekend. We had a design in mind from the moment we said yes!
