Ann’s Designer Cakes are really proud to have been shortlisted for many prestigious awards within the wedding planning industry over the years. But never before have we made it through to the final shortlist where you attend the actual awards ceremony! So at the start the year when we discovered that we had been shortlisted for the Guides for Brides Customer Service Awards 2018 in the Wedding Cake category, we were absolutely thrilled.

This meant that for one night only. Ann would have to step away from the kitchen, consultation room and her laptop.  And along with her fabulous team, put on something fancy and head out together for a night out in London.

What a fabulous night it turned out to be.

Held at No 4 Hamilton Place, the evening began with Prosecco and networking in the Argyll Room & Terrace before moving through to the Bill Boeing Room where the awards ceremony took place. The room was bursting with excitement and as we searched to find seats together, the lovely guys from The Cotswold Tailor were true gentlemen and offered us their seats at the front near the stage…right next to the judges- eek!

Anticipation was high. It was so exciting watching the nominations, the runners up and then the winners announced for each category. When the toastmaster, along with the Director of Guides for Brides, Alison Hargreaves, announced the Wedding Cake category…we were on the edge of our seats. We honestly didn’t expect to go home with anything as we were shortlisted alongside some amazing industry colleagues.

The Wedding Cake Finalist is…Ann’s Designer Cakes! Yippee! 

So we might not have won our category, but receiving the runner-up award was just amazing. The whole team were simply over the moon.

We thoroughly enjoyed celebrating throughout the rest of the evening. We all danced the night away to the brilliant Blue Lion Band who were so good! Then it was finally time to take our tired feet and shiny new award home.

Thank you so much to each and everyone one of our clients who voted and supported us in the lead up to these awards. They mean so much to us. Our award now has pride of place in our Consultation Room. The award is a fantastic reminder of all of the support we’ve received from our wonderful clients.
